There’s no better way to welcome the summer solstice than being surrounded by old-world beauty and blooming gardens. This editorial session was photographed on Kodak Ultra Max 400 35mm film at Agecroft Hall and Gardens in Richmond, Virginia. This stunning architectural gem transports you to the English countryside.
These images capture exactly what this session was about: the beauty and wonder of blooming. The warm light filtered through the trees, casting a romantic glow on the gardens, was the dreamiest backdrop. Alicia’s flowing Vintage Lucie Ann Chiffon Pom Pom Peignoir and whimsical poses added a dreamy softness that perfectly captured the essence of summer.
Shooting this on film was an intentional choice. Film has a way of translating light and color into something tangible and timeless. Ultra Max 400 gave the greens a lush, painterly tone while preserving the creamy warmth of sun-kissed skin and soft fabrics.
Agecroft Hall, with its historic textures and layered gardens, is a reminder that beauty often lies in quiet details. And on the longest day of the year, with the light stretching into the evening, I felt completely present.
Editorials always feel like a field trip for me. It’s a day of exploring a new environment outside of my Richmond studio. When you book a session with me, you also receive creative planning. So book now and let’s begin planning a dreamy session for you!
