A memorable 40th Birthday Boudoir Session
I had the absolute honor of photographing my friend’s boudoir session to celebrate her 40th birthday. There is something special about having someone who knows, trusts, and fully believes in your work choose you to document such a meaningful milestone. It’s not just about the photos. It’s about the vulnerability, the confidence, and the decision to step into a new chapter feeling empowered. We laughed, hyped each other up, and truly had the best time together. Hearing her share how beautiful, confident, and seen she felt afterward meant more to me than I can put into words. Boudoir is such a powerful and transformative experience. I am endlessly grateful that I get to create that space for women to celebrate themselves at every stage of life.
I ASKED: What are you hoping to gain from your Session?
SHE ANSWERED: “I’m hoping to celebrate my body and memorialize my mid-life after turning 40. With insane work schedules, two little kids and two dogs, I have to try very hard to connect with my partner and myself. I’ve wanted to do this again for years, so I’m excited to embrace this moment in my life and reconnect with my sexuality and give this gift to my husband.”
I loved this answer so much because it’s just real life.
You’re working, parenting, loving your people, keeping everything moving… and somehow you’re also supposed to stay connected to yourself in the middle of it all.
That doesn’t just happen. You have to choose it.
Turning 40 isn’t something to hide from. It’s something to honor. And when you pour back into yourself, when you reconnect with your body and your sexuality, it shifts how you show up everywhere else.
